Costume Technician and Historical Interpreter
SISTER ACT
Ford's Theatre, 2025
Costume Designer: Ivania Stack
Freelance Draper: Molly Klemm

In collaboration with another draper, I built twelve nun ensembles for the Finale number. My contributions included alterations, quick-rigging, and chiefly draping and building the sleeves. The three-piece bishop sleeves are tightly gathered into the cuff by hand and supported with an interior “tutu” of gathered net. Large gussets under the arm allow for maximum movement for the Finale choreography.
Other details include Mother Superior’s hand-appliqued cross detail and lapped zippers inserted at center back, connecting the layers of the costume.
THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD
Goodspeed Musicals, 2024
Costume Designer: Hunter Kaczorowski
Draper: Molly Klemm

For The Mystery of Edwin Drood, I patterned and led a team to build two identical Ulster coats for the character of Datchery. All of the pad stitching in the suit fronts and collars is done by hand to create a luxuriously tailored effect. Details on the coats include a habotai silk lining, a leather collar, and functional welt pockets. One coat has functional buttons and buttonholes, and the other is quick-rigged with hidden magnets.
DREAMGIRLS
Goodspeed Musicals, 2023
Costume Designer: Samantha C. Jones
Draper: Molly Klemm

For Dreamgirls, I patterned and led a team to build four matching dresses for the eponymous Dreamgirls. The bodices feature a beaded fabric that required the removal and restitching of beads along seam edges. The skirts are made up of yards of fabric, knife pleated down to the waistband and tacked by hand. Beneath the skirts are attached tulle petticoats under an organza skirt lining.
PRIVATE JONES
Goodspeed Musicals, 2023
Costume Designer: Phuong Nguyen
Draper: Molly Klemm

For Private Jones, I patterned and built replicas of aprons worn by army nurses in World War I. An ensemble character required the rigging of a “missing leg”, achieved through a leg holster attached to a padded belt, which is hidden beneath the performer’s shirt and accessed through a welted hole in the back of the shirt.
HERE YOU COME AGAIN
Goodspeed Musicals, 2023
Costume Designer: Bobby Pearce
Draper: Molly Klemm

For the traveling production of Here You Come Again, I led a team in repairing and updating pieces of the Dolly Parton wardrobe. These updates included a remake of the peach blouse from organza, which handled the beaded skirt and vest better than the original blouse, made from a lightweight knit fabric. Other costumes worn by Dolly were altered to add additional boning and structure to support the bust.
